whats the deal with the complaining....

The camera opens up on Desmond White sitting at a corner table in what appears to be one of the nicer restaurants in Mobile, AL. He is talking on his cell phone when a man walks up to the table. Desmond motions for the man to sit down as he finishes up his call.

Desmond:"Hey buddy, how the hell have you been?"

Jeff:"I have been good man but not as well as you I see."

Desmond:"Well, I really can't complain, I have done well for myself but I promise you I have worked my ass off for it."

Jeff:"I know man, I am not saying you don't deserve everything you have, I am just saying your doing well is all....despite everything else."

Desmond's look changes toward the man seated across the table from him.

Desmond:"And exactly what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Jeff:"Nothing man....just forget I said anything. Let's change the subject, who is this loser you got to fight next week at Fury?"

Desmond:"No...lets not change the subject. what "everything else" are you talking about?"

Jeff:"Come on man, It's just a figure of speech. I didn't mean nothing by it."

Desmond:"Figure of speech my ass! What the hell are you talking about? I am on top of the dam world and you come in with this "despite everything" crap."

Jeff:"OK man....listen...I heard about the issues you are having with your dad. I just wanted to see how you were doing with it is all."

Desmond:"Who told you about that?"

Jeff:"I heard it from some people is all."

Desmond:"Exactly what people?"

Jeff:"I got a call from Ashley Loomis last week and she told me about what was going on. I just wanted to see how you are dealing with it all. I know you and your dad are really tight and just wanted to check in on ya."

Desmond:"That |BLEEP|.....she should never have opened her mouth. I don't even know why I told her in the first place."

Jeff:"Well...maybe you told her because she is your ex-sister in law and just about the closest thing to family you got."

Desmond:"Yea...maybe...but she wasn't supposed to tell anyone. It's not really public knowledge and I didn't want anyone knowing about it. I'm sorry man, I didn't mean to go off like that, I just gotta be careful what gets out and what doesn't ya know. These clowns I work with will use anything and everything to get under my skin and I don't want my family involved in that."

Jeff:"I know man...it's a cut-throat business you in and there is no telling how far some people will go to get an edge. Now...how is your dad?"

Desmond:"He is fine....just not quite all there some days. ever since I moved him into my place he has been getting worse. Maybe it's me...maybe I'm making him go nuts."

Jeff:"It's not you man....it's the fact that he is 77 and just getting old. Could be that alzheimers thing too...ya never know."

Desmond:"I took him to a doctor last week and that's what they said it was looking like but man...it's still tough to deal with. You see the strongest guy you know just slipping away and its like getting shot in the chest. Just hard to deal with."

Jeff:"I know man...just got to keep yourself together. You got business to attend to at work."

Desmond:"Yea...I know. I got Blaine Evans talking crap still....even after I beat his ass last week, I got Neon Nate Rodgers getting in my business, not to mention all the other guys in the locker room gunning for my belt. I am glad you showed up tonight man. I need to just get away for a bit and forget about being a champ and all. I need a night to just hang out with my boys and relax."

Jeff:"I am glad you feel that way man because I rounded up some of the guys from the old days and we got one hell of a night planned. You ready to get outta here?"

Desmond:"Hell yea I am...lets get this party started."

Desmond throws a $20 on the table and the 2 men get up and walk out of the restaurant laughing.
