Cameras open up to a large empty run-down warehouse, the lighting is bright and fills the room helping show the stained glass windows that cover each wall of the warehouse. In each corner of the warehouse you can find a forklift covered with dust and cobwebs, as you look to the middle of the warehouse you can see a man standing next to a wooden stool. Beside the man is a large table with what looks like a roulette wheel on it and behind him a large spin wheel, one that you would find on the Price Is Right with numbers ranging from zero to one hundred. As you begin to pay more attention to the man’s surrounding you will notice that there is a single action Colt 45 on the wooden stool. The man is wearing black slacks with a white button down shirt; his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows as he admires the three objects in the middle of the warehouse. As brown haired man turns around you notice the black and white mask that’s covering his face and immediately you know that it’s none other than Max Siegel. Siegel looks at the camera before turning his attention back to the objects behind him.
Siegel: It would appear that for some the James Ranger Invitational has become a game. James Ranger, the man the tournament is named after has found a way to turn this into a game during the previous stages of this tournament. Many people were forced to compete in handicap matches in order to advance. The following week, he forced most of the participants to compete in a specialty match of sorts, just another game he wanted people to play. Like monkeys fighting over a banana, each and every man asked to participate in such games did so, and believe me James enjoyed every minute of it.
Max stops to look at the roulette table and game show wheel that are behind him, he approaches the large game show wheel before turning back to the camera.
Siegel: Lance Invictus appears to be a man that likes games. He’s shown us that he’s a poker player *pauses* … yes Lance has shown that he’s not afraid to go all-in. Poker is an interesting game, it’s a game of emotions, the man who shows the least amount of emotion is usually the man with the upper hand. Can you deceive your opponents? Can you figure out when they are trying to deceive you? It’s really fascinating to watch people while they’re playing this game. Some people are so skilled while others hope for the luck of the cards.
Siegel turns his head slowly from left to right while continuing to focus on the camera, his ear length brown hair bounces along with the movement of his head.
Siegel: But the thing about cards, just like any other game, is it’s not so much about chance as it is about skill. When you are the better man, you will win. It’s as simple as that. Lance has been able to come out on top over his friend and trusted supporter Ian Elms, his lackey if you will. You bring your trusty sidekick with you to not only make you feel superior but to help feed your ever lacking self esteem. Will Ian be joining you at ringside, Lance? Will he be there to watch you get your @s$ kicked all around the ring? He’s allowed you to win in poker he’s been there to support you throughout your journey here in the WWX, but I promise you this Lance, if he gets near the ring, he will get hurt. I will make sure of it.
Max turns around and places both hands on the large game show wheel, he thrusts downward and begins spinning the wheel, moving at a quick pace the numbers are a blur, Max continues to watch as the wheel begins to slow down, coming to a near halt numbers begin to pass the arrow, five, thirty, forty five all pass before the wheel comes to a stop on the number one hundred.
Siegel: As I said before, it takes skill not luck. I’m glad Lance is a game player, because when he steps into the ring at Fury he will come in looking for a great game, not a fight. I’m ready to give him the fight of his life and to be honest it makes me happy to know that after I beat the hell out of Lance he will still be smiling, because after all he looks at this fatal four-way as nothing more than a game. You see nothing random happens, everything, absolutely everything happens for a reason. There is no such thing as luck, things happen for a reason, people get what they deserve, for guys like me that leads success, for people like Invictus it usually leads to failure or in his most recent case a warrant for his arrest.
Max turns away from the large game show wheel and turns his attention to the pistol he picks up the single action Colt 45 with his right hand and begins to move the pistol in his hand. He opens the cylinder of the pistol and looks at the single bullet that is sitting in the cylinder; he spins the chamber causing a loud clicking noise to be heard before he shuts the chamber of the single action Colt 45.
Siegel: Lance, Lance, Lance, what were you thinking?
”Hollywood” looks at the gun before pointing it in the direction of the camera, he puts the Colt 45 back down on the wooden stool as he smiles at the camera.
Siegel: You killed a man. While he may have been another useless member of society, it was still a life that you took and the last time I checked that is not only frowned upon it is illegal. Seriously Lance, what were you thinking? Were you trying to paint a bigger target on your back? You’ve run your mouth, you’ve accused me of receiving preferential treatment, and who are you? You sound like Darkness with all of your complaining about preferred treatment! While you were out playing drinking games and killing homeless people, I’ve been busy furthering my legacy. I’ve accomplished more than you will ever accomplish. I’ve made very few appearances, yet I’ve been able to win the Triple A Championship, what have you done Lance?
Slowly, Max approaches the roulette table, black and white casino chips are sitting on the table and Max moves all of the chips to green double zero.
Siegel: You had an on again off again love with Chris Stout, you even tried to help him defeat Tommy Lipton, how did that work out for you Lance? Your plan backfired! While we’re speaking of Chris Stout, whatever happened to him? Last I checked he was nearly decapitated by Blaine Evans, the man you seem to be so worried about. Is he fighting in the match, Lance? Why are you so worried about the self-proclaimed Wild One? He’s just a little boy with a drug addict for a mother; don’t go worrying about Blaine when you have to worry about a real man.
Max picks up the white roulette ball and spins the the roulette wheel, the ball begins bouncing around the wheel touching many of the numbers before falling on green double zero. Max looks up at the camera and smiles.
Siegel: What more do I need to do to show you there’s no such thing as luck? People can feel lucky, yes, sometimes you have fortunate things that happen to you, but you never get lucky. Just look at what happened at Ravage, Lance you were suppose to win two of three falls in your handicap match, yet Lost Soul picked up the first pinfall for you. It makes no sense to me. I was watching that match and couldn’t make sense of it but for some reason the referee allowed it to count as a pinfall victory for you. You were able to sneak out of Ravage with brass knuckles in hand victorious, the brass knuckles were a stroke of genius, I've got to give you that. There’s nothing better than watching a desperate man pull out all of the stops, you did that *pausing* with some help from the Lost Soul.
Taking a second to look around the room, “Hollywood” begins to walk towards the door of the warehouse before turning around and looking back at the objects in the middle of the room. He walks towards the roulette table before turning to the wooden stool, he grabs the single action Colt 45 and picks it up with his right hand, and he begins walking towards the door and comes to a complete stop.
Siegel: Lance, you are hungry, I like that and respect that. But you have too many intangibles working against you. Your friendship with Ian Elms can only hurt you, if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that friendships can only hold you down. You become invested in their well being and when they are hurt or struggling you feel their pain, what would happen if somebody inflicted pain on Ian? Take my advice Lance, leave that loser at home. If you can resist the urge to bring him to Fury you will be better off, that is if you can even make it to Fury.
Police sirens can be heard in the background as “Hollywood” Max Siegel gets closer to the door of the warehouse.
Siegel: Do you hear that Lance? It’s the sound of the law getting closer, I hope you can find a safe house to lay low in for the next couple days, because it would be a damn shame if the police saved you from the biggest beat down you have ever experienced.
Max slowly moves raises his right arm, holding the single action Colt 45 and pointing it in the direction of the camera.
Siegel: With a gun in hand, you took a homeless man’s life. With an arena full of fans, I will end your career.
***BANG!***
Siegel’s index finger pushes the trigger in on the gun, as the gun fires the image of Max Siegel fades and is replaced by black and grey fuzz on your screen.
